A San Diego teacher was found guilty of having sex with her male student<\/a> and sentenced to two years in prison on Friday, July 29, 2016.<\/p>\n

Toni Sutton, 38 years old, was convicted on two counts of unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor. Additionally, she will have to register as a sex offender for the rest of her life.<\/p>\n

The relationship began when the minor was 15 years old and lasted for several months. After her arrest she was placed on administrative leave while her case was pending.<\/p>\n

Her defense attorney requested that she receive probation, but the request was denied by the San Diego Superior Court Judge overseeing the case.<\/p>\n
